Lex Mendes has an eye for desire.

Not the obvious types you find throughout modern photography, all flash and glimpsed flesh. His camera mines a deeper kind: the all encompassing kind. His portraits are filled with eyes hungering for intimacy, for connection, for understanding and compassion.

In his shots are moments of defiance, solitude, longing and pride. Each frame encasing monumental emotions with dignity and vulnerability. All this is done with a sensitivity and innate care for the subject that seems to come naturally to him.

One look at Lex's photography tells you everything you need to know about the human heart and what it wants.
